Biography
Bob is a graduate of Loyola University of Los Angeles with a B.B.A. degree in Personnel and Industrial Relations, with emphasis on labor negotiations. He also has an extensive educational background in Psychology and Philosophy from Long Beach State University.
Bob holds a lifetime California Teaching Credential, Standard Secondary,
in Business Education and Philosophy and has taught at several school districts throughout Southern California. Bob also develops programs and educational seminars in alternative dispute resolution and conflict management.Bob is a Mentor Mediator for the Institute for Conflict Management, Community Service Programs (CSP) and the St. Vincent De Paul Center for Community Reconciliation in Santa Ana, California and has developed and taught several advanced mediation seminars to mediators for the Dispute Resolution Program Act (DRPA) agencies in Orange County.
Bob's arbitration/mediation experience is quite varied and diverse. Bob is a settlement officer/mediator for the California Court of Appeal, Second District. He is a member of several federal and state qualified mediation panels. Bob also arbitrates in the Better Business Bureau Autoline program and for the National Association of Securities Dealers.
Bob calls himself a “Trans-Evaluative” mediator. He varies his mediation style to suit the particular program or situation, from pure transformational to evaluative and facilitative as needed. Bob's extensive and varied background allows him to arbitrate/mediate a full spectrum of possible issues, with a special emphasis on large multi-party, multi-issue negotiations. Just a few examples of his scope are Harassment and Discrimination; Construction; Real Estate; Collectible Art; Employer/Employee; Sports Management (more than 35 years experience as a player, coach, club administrator, referee, regional/national administrator and international travel with the Los Angeles Rugby Club); Travel and Cultural Diversity. To add even more depth to his commitment to helping people in crisis Bob is a State Certified Sexual Assault Counselor.
